Dressage - Welcome to the 2008 Season

Congratulations are definitely in order, for two of our Dressage Members
who qualified for the South East Region Unaffiliated Championships that
were held at Hickstead on 31st May/ 1st June, they are HEATHER WILLACY
riding NICKEL HOTSPUR who won the Elementary Championship, and WENDY JONES riding HADDON MARDI GRAS, who won her section and ended up a very creditable 5th overall in the Novice Championship. Well done to you both.
If anyone is placed 1st or 2nd in the qualifiers, for any of the
Championships, then this will be for 2009, so do keep competing.

CHAMPIONSHIP DAY: 31st AUGUST
We have had a reasonable turn out of competitors at the Meets, to date, and we could not have asked for better weather on each occasion, anything is better than snow!
Looking ahead to our Championship Day, there is still time to qualify for the Championships, but don’t forget the TEAM competition. All you need is a team of three,, they do not have to be Club Members, (it is the only day that we relax the ruling) , think up a fancy name for the team and send in the entry. We would love to see some Teams from WPEC members, ie. Juniors, Over 40’s or similar.
The competition is Novice 33(2002), plenty of time to practice between now and end of August, also, just to make the day more fun, the remaining members of the team can enter the non-championship classes.
Let us round off the season with a really enjoyable day, for competitors and supporters, the rumour is that the Steward has found a really wild shirt to wear !!

LOST PROPERTY
If anyone has left their whip behind, tailguards or other bits and bobs, please enquire at
the Dressage caravan as we appear to accumulate all sorts through the year and would like
to return the items to their owners .
It is always encouraging to see competitors move up a class, so how about some of you that
are competing at Elementary having a go at a Medium test, you have to start sometime,
why not at Windsor??
If anyone has any ideas or comments, please, let us know, because it is always good to
receive feedback from competitors (good or bad), as we are already considering content
for 2009.
